Job Summary
Dietary Aide assists with daily food-service operations in a post-acute healthcare setting: learning and following the food service routine, setting up meal trays, stripping and washing dishes, serving meals, monitoring dishwasher chlorine and water temperatures, operating the dishwasher, preparing nourishments and snacks, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen. The role supports kitchen and dietary staff, participates in orientation and ongoing training, and collaborates with personnel across departments to ensure safe, efficient food service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate
- Ability to read technical procedures; read and follow recipes
- Mathematical skills: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
