Job Summary
Diet Technician provides patient meal services and liaises with departments for patient nutrition. Responsibilities include reviewing patient menus, tallying menu items for kitchen preparation, conducting patient tray lines to ensure safety and accuracy of meals, maintaining knowledge of IDDSI textures and allergies, collaborating with registered dietitians and nurses to ensure accurate patient nutrition, logging food temperatures and test trays, and ensuring adherence to safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. The role supports Aramark’s hospital food service operations and requires adaptable, patient-focused service in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment or graduate of an undergraduate nutrition program or related major required
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Previous customer service and/or food service experience preferred
- Able to communicate fluently in the English language, bilingual or multilingual a plus
- Ability to complete basic Excel functions
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Must be flexible and adaptable to change
- Must be open to working some weekend and holiday shifts
