Job Summary

Review initial nutrition screens to identify malnutrition triggers and refer patients to dietitians. Complete subsequent screenings throughout admission to track changes in nutritional status and ensure referrals occur within designated timeframes. Respond to calls regarding menu selections, evaluate food appropriateness against diet restrictions and allergies, and visit bedside to explain orders and assist patients with menu choices. Verify all provided items comply with dietary guidelines and food allergies, then complete nutrient intake analysis reports in LLEAP. Participate in patient counseling on medical nutrition therapy under supervision, train dietetic students, and attend clinical meetings. Requires Dietetic Technician, Registered certification and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food or Nutrition.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Food or Nutrition
  • Associate's Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics with Diet Technician Registration (DTR) certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) certification
  • Associate's Degree
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Minimum of one year experience
  • Knowledge of nutritional food values
  • Knowledge of meal planning
  • Knowledge of therapeutic menu processes
  • Ability to operate calculator
