Job Summary
Supervise and perform maintenance, repair, and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles, armored vehicles, trailers, and material handling equipment systems. Inspect, service, maintain, repair, replace, adjust, and test automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, starting, and charging systems. Complete 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, followed by on-the-job instruction. Submit to background and medical screening and achieve a passing ASVAB score. This role supports mission-critical Army operations and prepares candidates for future civilian careers in auto mechanics, farm equipment, and state highway agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Be between the ages of 17–40
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Receive a passing score on the ASVAB

- Interest in auto mechanics and the industrial arts
- Preference for physical work
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems
- Interest in automotive engines and how they work
