Diesel Truck Technician

Job Summary

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles, including diesel engines, electrical systems, air brake systems, and emissions components. Troubleshoot issues reported by drivers or customers using diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to provide effective repair solutions. Carry out scheduled maintenance and complex repairs while communicating job progress to supervisors and customers. Complete service reports, order parts, and maintain accurate repair records. Field Technicians will be going out on service calls.

Required Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree and/or equivalent experience as a truck technician, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment technician
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brake systems, transmissions, steering and suspension, HVAC, hydraulic systems, and aftertreatment/emissions systems
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Insurable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on Mack and Volvo Trucks
