Diesel Truck Technician - Rochester

Job Summary

Ensure all warranty and mechanical repairs are completed according to manufacturer specifications, providing safe and reliable vehicles upon completion. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes and battery checks, while inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, and transmissions. Read diagnostic test results using computer equipment and maintain repair history by documenting Repair Orders. Raise trucks and heavy parts using hydraulic jacks or hoists, and comply with part and inventory tracking procedures. Utilize multiple manufacturers' software and diagnostic tools, and may process new fleet, LOFR, tires, fuel reclamation, or buy-backs. Participate in company-approved training and maintain a clean work area. Schedule available Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum of two years of mechanical experience working on buses or medium duty trucks
  • 4+ current and valid ASEs certifications
  • at least 2 must be Truck
  • Ownership of standard hand tools
  • current and valid drivers license
  • no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the past 3 years
  • No drug or alcohol related convictions on driving record within the past 5 years
  • Subject to a pre-employment drug test
  • if hired, will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to operate manufacturer diagnostic equipment
  • Must be able understand, read, write, and speak English
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Applicants will be required to submit an appropriate medical examiner's certificate
  • submit to and successfully complete a D.O.T. medical examination

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / G.E.D. preferred
  • Degree in Automotive Technology
  • Completion of Automotive Technical College
  • Technical/vocational training preferred
