Job Summary
Diesel Service Technician with responsibility for in-shop service and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks, using OEM diagnostic software to perform repairs, performing engine and transmission work (including in-frame overhaul and Allison transmission rebuilds), chassis repairs, and testing to dealer/manufacturer specifications. Requires strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, ability to read blueprints and use metric/standard measurements, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Located in Wichita, KS with on-site shop duties and hands-on repair responsibilities under the Service Foreman.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- A technical school certificate in related field such as Automotive/Diesel Technology, or Welding/Fabrication preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years of related experience in manual fabrication from blueprint specifications
- Must have experience using both standard and metric measures
- A good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Ability to consistently repair components and equipment in line with dealer and manufacturers, flat-rate time standards
- Strong mechanical skills
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Commitment to maintaining an orderly and safe working environment
