Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic II (2nd shift) at PADNOS diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Performs advanced troubleshooting with diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment; repairs hydraulic/pneumatic/air brake systems; conducts DOT inspections; completes preventive maintenance; addresses emissions systems (DEF/DPF); welding/fabrication as needed; mentors entry-level technicians; responds to emergency breakdowns; maintains service documentation; ensures OEM and safety standards; communicates repair timelines to supervisors. Requires 3+ years diesel mechanic experience, strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, proficiency with OEM software, and knowledge of hydraulics/electrical systems; shift is 1:00 pm–1:00 am, Monday–Thursday; benefits include tuition reimbursement, 401K match, bonuses, and equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience in fleet, transportation, recycling, construction, or industrial environments
- Strong diesel diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with OEM diagnostic software and computerized systems
- Experience with air brakes and hydraulic systems preferred
- Knowledge of welding and torching
- Relevant Military experience
- Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail
