Job Summary
Diesel Truck Maintenance Technician responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, and general repairs on tractor and trailer units in compliance with DOT and company standards. Performs 90-day inspections, cargo-tank inspections, and diagnostics; replaces worn parts, services brakes, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; operates diagnostic software and maintenance management software; conducts welding repairs as needed; ensures safety and environmental policies are followed; reports to Shop Supervisor. Requires ability to read/write English and physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 75 lbs; travel is minimal (0% under normal circumstances).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (49CFR HM180.407)
