Job Summary
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers, including brakes, lights, tires, and suspension systems. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, conduct DOT inspections, and ensure all trailers meet safety and compliance standards. Replace and repair structural components like doors and flooring, service refrigeration units, and perform welding and fabrication work as needed. Maintain accurate service records and collaborate with the transportation team to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime. Work Tuesday through Saturday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm in Mesquite, TX.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Strong knowledge of air brake systems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to safety
- Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment
- Understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in trailer maintenance and repair
- Welding and fabrication skills
- CDL
