Job Summary
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on commercial trucks using cutting-edge diagnostic tools while conducting routine maintenance, service, and inspections. Collaborate with experienced peers, mentor apprentices, and participate in ongoing brand-based training and development. Report to the Service Foreman in Whangarei, with options for full-time Monday to Friday hours or a 4 on 4 off roster including on-call callouts. Background checks for references, medical, drug, qualifications, and right to work are required.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with commercial trucks
- Experience with service, repair AND diagnostics
- A strong commitment to safety and a proactive mindset
- Excellent problem-solving skills to tackle challenges head-on
- Ideally, a Class 5 license (we can help you get it!)
- NZQA Level 4 in Heavy Road Transport or Heavy Plant & Equipment
- COF B certification ideal but not essential
- Reliability and willingness to commit to the team
- Must be able to go onto the on-call roster which includes callouts as needed
- Must be available for fulltime Monday to Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm, or a 4 on 4 off roster of 7:30am – 7:30pm, with rostered on-call duties
- Must pass background checks including reference, medical, drug, qualifications and right to work checks

- Experience mentoring apprentices
- Interest in in house training towards leadership
- NZQA Level 4 in Heavy Road Transport or Heavy Plant & Equipment
- COF B certification
