Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and standard component inspections on heavy-duty vehicles. Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers to identify root causes and replace defective parts. Execute routine preventative maintenance including oil changes, brake, and tire work. Interact with customers or drivers to determine complaint nature and utilize the Shop Management System for electronic documentation. Conduct facility maintenance and support operations as required while adhering to federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines. Requires a valid CDL Class A, two years of combined training and experience, and completion of a road test. Schedule includes second shift Monday through Friday with weekends off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance
- Oil changes
- Brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
