Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard component inspections, preventive maintenance, and replacing defective components. Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers to identify root causes of failures. Interact with customers or drivers to determine complaint nature, then execute repairs as instructed. Utilize the Shop Management System for electronic documentation and adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines. Conduct facility maintenance and perform other support duties as required for operations.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance
- oil changes
- brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational or Technical Certification
- Post Secondary degree
- Technical Certifications
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
