Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance duties on heavy-duty vehicles. Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers, identify root causes of failures, and replace defective components as instructed. Conduct standard component inspections, perform routine preventative maintenance including oil changes and brake work, and execute facility maintenance tasks. Interact with customers and drivers to determine complaint nature, utilize the Shop Management System for documentation, and adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines. Requires a valid CDL Class A, ASE certifications, and experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance
- Oil changes
- Brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
