Job Summary
Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles at client sites or breakdown locations in the Fort Myers area. Troubleshoot electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems using diagnostic equipment to isolate faults and verify repairs via road tests. Write accurate repair orders detailing failure causes and procedures, communicate repair information to customers, and obtain permission for additional work. Manage service truck inventory, tools, and paperwork while tracking clocked hours and collecting payments. Requires a valid CDL, ability to work 8–10 hour days including overtime, and physical stamina for lifting up to 100 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Ability to work 8 – 10 hour days, including overtime hours as needed
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
- Ability to read and interpret shop repair order forms, repair manuals, electrical schematics and various other technical bulletins
- Ability to use computer keyboard and Windows basics
- Personal tool inventory to allow for the completion of job duties and assignments
- Responsible for collecting payment cash, credit card, or po# etc.
