Diesel Technician/Mechanic (Mobile)

Job Summary
Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles at client sites, including troubleshooting electrical, drive train, HVAC, brake, engine, and suspension systems. Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment, verify repairs via road tests, and write detailed repair orders describing failure causes and procedures. Manage service truck inventory, tools, and paperwork while communicating repair information and obtaining customer permission for additional work. Coordinate with parts departments to order necessary components and track clocked hours to repair orders. Work 8–10 hour days including overtime, with travel to Orlando and surrounding areas. Requires a valid CDL, 5 years of HD truck experience, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years' experience in HD truck maintenance
- certified in at least two major brand products (MX, Cummins, CAT, Eaton, or Fuller etc)
- High School Diploma
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work 8 – 10 hour days, including overtime hours as needed
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements
- Ability to read and interpret shop repair order forms, repair manuals, electrical schematics and various other technical bulletins
- Ability to use computer keyboard and Windows basics
- Ability to obtain a Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Ability to converse with customers one on one
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision needed
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
Desired Qualifications
- Formal technical degree, certificate or equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
