Job Summary
Diesel Technician at Marathon Petroleum located in Covington, KY. Responsibilities include performing daily preventative and corrective maintenance on the fleet of transports and trailers, inspecting and maintaining trailers to meet DOT requirements, maintaining DOT compliance documentation, performing tire changes, coordinating emergency maintenance and outside repairs, managing maintenance files, and performing routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake and suspension service, and hydraulic and air system servicing. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work in a team, prioritization of daily workloads, a valid driver’s license, and experience with diesel engines and semi-trailers; travel up to 50% and training in OSHA HAZWOPER is preferred. Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Mechanic certification/completion of a 2-year program at an accredited technical school, vocational school, or community college with coursework in truck mechanics preferred
- Professional mechanic or technician experience related to diesel engines and semi-trailers in oil and gas operations preferred
- Previous petroleum industry experience is strongly desired
- Must be able to perform spill response duties if required and trained in OSHA’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Standard
