Job Summary
Diesel Technician responsible for daily preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet of transports and trailers; inspect and maintain trailers to DOT standards, maintain DOT documentation, perform tire changes, coordinate emergency and outside repairs, tanker certifications, and shop-area upkeep; perform routine maintenance (oil changes, air filters, power steering, brakes, suspension, PTOs, wheel hubs and electrical systems) and maintain maintenance schedules for trucks, tankers, and semi-trailers; located in Indianapolis, IN with occasional out-of-region development opportunities; travel up to 25%; requires valid driver’s license, mechanical aptitude, and experience with diesel engines and electrical systems; 2-year mechanic program preferred; OSHA HAZWOPER training and petroleum industry experience strongly desired; teamwork and effective communication skills required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Mechanic certification/completion of a 2-year program at an accredited technical school, vocational school, or community college with coursework in truck mechanics preferred
- Professional mechanic or technician experience related to diesel engines and semi-trailers in oil and gas operations preferred
- Experience with and knowledge of wiring and electrical systems preferred
- Previous petroleum industry experience strongly desired
- Ability to perform in a team environment with other operations and staff personnel
- Ability to prioritize daily work schedules depending on operational requirements
- Self-motivated and capable of working efficiently with little supervision
- Must be able to perform spill response duties if required (HAZWOPER)
- Travel: Up to 25%
