Job Summary
Diesel Technician Level 3 performs repair and diagnosis of diesel engines, powertrain components (transmissions, differentials), electrical systems and HVAC, along with brakes, suspension, and after-treatment devices. Requires annual vehicle inspector and brake inspector certifications per DOT; proficient in welding (MIG/TIG) for non-standard situations; advanced diagnostic software for Detroit DD15 engines and DEF/after-treatment repairs; capable of working with minimal supervision, maintaining safety SOPs, and mentoring other technicians. Monday–Friday 6am–2:30pm; travel for training may be required; strong communication skills and adherence to DOT standards are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 6 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
- Vocational / Technical or certification preferred
- ASE Certification preferred
- 608/609 certifications preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel for training
- Must have own tools (hand and pneumatic) sufficient to do any job that is required.
