Job Summary
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform engine and chassis repairs on Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Freightliner, and vocational vehicles. Read job orders, observe vehicles in operation, and follow checklists to ensure critical parts are examined. Coordinate with warranty administrators to recapture maximum profit and tag parts for return. Adhere to manufacturer policies for labor operations and repair order documentation while maintaining an organized workspace. Complete assigned work, test drive vehicles to verify fixes, and participate in technical training. Ensure customer vehicles are returned clean and develop friendly relationships with customers and coworkers. Achieve production objectives set by management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years Fleet or Dealership experience
- Possess own tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service skills to ensure friendly and professional interactions with customers
- Honest, dependable, organized & resourceful
- Must be self-motivated and professional
- Dedication to teamwork and collaboration
- Must have the desire to provide strong customer service
- Independent thinking
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- The employee is regularly required to use arms, hands and fingers to feel, grasp, push, pull or squeeze and reach
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear
- The employee is often required to climb and occasionally required to balance
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration
- The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud
