Job Summary

Perform comprehensive diagnoses and repairs across all vehicle maintenance areas, specializing in at least one specific repair technique. Diagnose malfunctions, execute repairs, and road test vehicles when required. Communicate with the parts department and service advisor regarding needed components, additional work, or delays. Document all work performed and recommended on the work order, saving and tagging parts under warranty or per customer request. Maintain 100% efficiency or higher while operating all tools and equipment safely. Train and mentor other diesel technicians and attend assigned company training. Report machinery defects to the supervisor and maintain accountability for dealership-owned tools and manuals.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years related experience and/ or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • OEM Certifications Required to come in at this level
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to frequently work in a crouched position or lying on the back, on mechanic's dolly beneath motor vehicles
  • Must be able to reach and work overhead approximately 40% of the time
  • Must be able to operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner

Desired Qualifications

  • CDL Preferred
