Job Summary
Perform comprehensive diagnoses and repairs across all areas of vehicle maintenance, specializing in at least one specific repair area. Diagnose malfunctions, communicate with the parts department for needed components, and save or tag warranty parts as requested. Examine assigned vehicles for additional safety or service needs, road test vehicles when required, and document all work performed on repair orders. Maintain 100% efficiency or higher while operating tools safely and attending assigned company training. Mentor other diesel technicians and report machinery defects to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years related experience and/ or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- OEM Certifications Required to come in at this level
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to frequently work in a crouched position or lying on the back, on mechanic's dolly beneath motor vehicles
- Must be able to reach and work overhead approximately 40% of the time
- Must be able to operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
