Job Summary
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks while performing electrical diagnosis of starting and charging systems. Identify and inspect air conditioning, heating, wheel end assembly, air system, air brakes, and hydraulics components. Complete twenty-two months of on-the-job training with mentorship and virtual instruction to achieve Apprentice certification as a Republic Services entry-level Diesel Mechanic. Travel to and live in Dallas, Texas for nine weeks of company-paid technical institute training starting October 19th, 2026. Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays to support fleet operations across 180 business units nationwide.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to completing this two-year program
- Interest in engineering and technology
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some nights/weekends or holidays
- Willingness to uphold the values and expectations at Republic Services, including safety, ethics, and respect
- Willingness to travel to & live in Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of in-person training
