Diesel Technician Apprentice-Paid Training

Job Summary
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks while completing a two-year apprenticeship. Perform electrical diagnosis of starting and charging systems, inspect air conditioning and heating components, and identify wheel end, air system, air brake, and hydraulic components. Execute hands-on work including basic tire work and wheel end assembly under direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager. Complete nine weeks of company-paid training at the Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, followed by twenty-two months of on-the-job training with mentorship and virtual instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to completing this two-year program
- Interest in engineering and technology
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some nights/weekends or holidays
- Willingness to uphold the values and expectations at Republic Services, including safety, ethics, and respect
- Willingness to travel to & live in Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of in-person training
