Job Summary
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including electrical diagnosis of starting and charging systems, air conditioning and heating inspections, wheel end assembly checks, air system and brake component identification, and hydraulic system evaluations. Complete nine weeks of company-paid technical training at the Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, followed by twenty-two months of on-the-job training with mentorship to achieve Apprentice certification. Apply logical problem-solving skills to maintain fleet performance while adhering to safety, ethics, and respect values across the organization's business units.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to completing this two-year program
- Interest in engineering and technology
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some nights/weekends or holidays
- Willingness to uphold the values and expectations at Republic Services, including safety, ethics, and respect
- Willingness to travel to & live in Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of in-person training
