Diesel Shop Maintenance Technician (B)

Job Summary
Maintenance Technician B performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including chassis components, refuse bodies with hydraulic and electrical systems, air and hydraulic braking systems, light engine repair, suspension, drivetrain and steering, and heating and air conditioning. The role may involve line maintenance welding and fabrication, on-site and road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently, and requires diagnosing multi-system issues using electronic tools. Prior experience with heavy-duty vehicles (Classes 7-8) or graduation from an automotive college/technical school within the next 3 months is expected; ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus, and a valid driver’s license is required.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
- Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
- 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
- Valid Driver’s License.
