Job Summary
Mobile Diesel Technician travels to customer worksites to maintain and repair customer vehicles; provides technical service on vehicles and equipment including troubleshooting, electrical and diagnostic work; reads repair orders and performs general/detailed repair of trucks, engines and components; installs injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, and other parts; inspects guards and safety devices, lubricates moving parts, verifies repairs, and communicates with service staff on additional work; maintains a neat, safe work environment; follows safe work practices and may participate in other projects; requires 1-2 years of diesel technician experience, brand experience with International, Isuzu, Ford, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, CAT, Allison, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, Kenworth, or Peterbilt, tools, and a high school diploma or technical certification.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years minimum work experience as a Medium and/or Heavy Diesel Technician
- Valid driver's license
- Must possess a full set of personal hand tools
- Must have, or be able to develop through training, a detailed knowledge of commercial truck and engine repair
- Must have successfully completed appropriate diesel/ automotive certificate programs in repairs and service, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Able to use a personal computer and basic applications
- Minimum of High School Diploma/ GED, Vocational or Technical certification in vehicle repair is preferred
