Job Summary
Mobile Diesel Technician at Allegiance Trucks travels to customer worksites to maintain and repair customer vehicles, provides electrical and diagnostic services, reads repair orders, and performs general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components. Responsibilities include installing injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, gear parts, brakes, batteries, and transmissions; examining protective guards and safety devices on trucks; lubricating parts; verifying repairs by driving the vehicle; advising Service staff on additional work; tagging return warranty parts; maintaining a neat, safe work environment; following safe work practices and seeking assistance when needed; and handling other projects as assigned. Candidates should have a mechanical aptitude with 1-2 years of diesel experience and be familiar with brands such as International, Isuzu, Ford, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, CAT, Allison, Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, Kenworth, or Peterbilt, plus a valid driver’s license, a tool set, PC skills, and relevant certifications or hands-on experience.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years minimum work experience as a Medium and/or Heavy Diesel Technician
- Valid driver’s license
- Must possess a full set of personal hand tools
- Must have, or be able to develop through training, a detailed knowledge of commercial truck and engine repair
- Must have successfully completed appropriate diesel/ automotive certificate programs in repairs and service, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Minimum of High School Diploma/ GED, Vocational or Technical certification in vehicle repair is preferred
