Diesel/Mobile Mechanic Level 3 (M-F 11am-6:30pm)

Job Summary
Diesel/Mobile Mechanic Level 3 responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, powertrain components (including differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts), electrical and HVAC systems, brakes (including ABS and air disc brakes), steering, electronics (ECMs/ECUs/sensors), and aftertreatment devices (DPF/DOC). Performs preventive maintenance, road-tests vehicles, and mentors other technicians. Must be annual vehicle inspector certified and brake inspector certified per DOT requirements. Advanced diagnostic software proficiency for Detroit DD15 engines and DEF/aftertreatment repairs. Requires welding (MIG/TIG) in non-standard situations, ability to interpret test results, maintain clean work areas, and ensure DOT compliance. Tools and English communication required; willingness to travel for training.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational / Technical or certification preferred
- Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills
- Expert understanding of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices
- ASE Certification preferred, and 608/609 certifications preferred
- Proficiency in the use of tools and diagnostic equipment
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Willingness to travel for training
- Must have own tools (hand and pneumatic) sufficient to do any job that is required
- English proficiency (verbal and written)
