Job Summary
Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance, including brake inspections, engine tune-ups, and transmission repairs, while ensuring buses remain safe for passengers. Complete work orders accurately and conduct preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance checks. Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed. Maintain a valid driver's license and possess a mechanic's tool set to complete assigned duties. Full-time day shift split between Chicago and Crestwood locations with hourly pay ranging from $35.00 to $38.00. Company-paid CDL Class B training and ASE certification bonuses available.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3+ years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience
- Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license
- CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
- Possession of a mechanic's tool set to complete all assigned duties
- Strong computer skills
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided)
- Note: This position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee
