Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic needed to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles at Waste Connections. Role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems; utilizing vehicle computer electronics to identify failure modes; conducting emergency breakdown service calls; safety inspections and paperwork using fleet maintenance software; and maintaining a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards. Preferred candidate will have 1 year of heavy equipment maintenance/repair experience or completed accredited vocational technical/technical school program; CDL preferred but Class C license required; own tools; strong communication to convey needed repairs; and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- completion of accredited vocational technical school program
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair
