Job Summary

Diagnose and troubleshoot heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery, perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components, and conduct welding and fabrication work as needed. Inspect equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately, and follow all safety procedures while participating in weekly safety meetings. Maintain reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with company policies. This hands-on role supports operations at transfer stations and material recovery facilities, requiring experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems. ASE Certification and a valid driver's license are required, with a CDL Class B preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must provide your own tools
  • ASE Certification
  • 2-5 years of experience in a transportation, fleet, or heavy equipment environment
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Tow Motor Certification
  • Air Brake Certification
