Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic position at United Rentals Trucking Center performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of commercial and utility trucks and tools across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Duties include completing work orders, demonstrating trucks to customers, assisting with pickup/delivery of trucks and parts, and maintaining thorough documentation. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, 1-2 years of related automotive/diesel experience or trade school background, and basic schematics/diagrams knowledge. Emphasizes exceptional customer service, teamwork, and safety with the ability to lift up to 45 lbs and operate with attention to documentation and field service needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- 1-2 years of automotive/light truck and/or diesel experience or trade school graduate
- 1-2 years of above-chassis rotation experience or relevant training
- Own tools applicable to position
- Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
- Safety sensitive position
