Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment. Move vehicles in and out of the shop, open repair orders, and charge parts accordingly. Inspect tires, brakes, fluids, and safety systems to ensure proper fuel levels, tire air pressure, and equipment worthiness. Diagnose and repair tire/wheel, brake, clutch, electrical, and heating systems while managing the Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair process. Conduct trailer preps and hose inspections per HM183 standards. Adhere to all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to provide own basic hand tools
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and comprehend service manuals
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the shop to repair and maintain company equipment
- Advanced knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance
- Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and out-of-service parameters for tractors, trailers, and accessorial equipment
- Knowledge of proper procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials
