Job Summary
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, braking systems, fuel systems, and hydraulic components while performing preventative maintenance such as oil changes and brake adjustments. Inspect, repair, and replace defective parts including gaskets and seals, then maintain accurate documentation for all repairs. Troubleshoot mechanical issues to implement effective solutions and ensure all activities comply with safety standards. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures. Requires a high school diploma, proven heavy equipment repair experience, valid driver's license, and ability to read technical manuals. ASE certification or fleet vehicle maintenance experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar heavy equipment repair role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, fuel systems, and hydraulics
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation
- Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- ASE certification or equivalent technical certification
- Experience maintaining and repairing commercial fleet vehicles
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems
- Additional technical training in hydraulics, fuel systems, or related specialties
