Job Summary
As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic (Tech IV) at Ryder, you'll perform heavy duty maintenance tasks with minimal supervision, focusing on diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on Ryder vehicles. You may also mentor junior technicians and interact with drivers to understand repair needs. The role requires 3+ years of experience in heavy duty vehicle maintenance, preferably with a high school diploma or equivalent, and familiarity with diesel and gas engine repair, A/C, electrical systems, as well as basic tools and a valid Class A CDL. Shifts will vary with a Monday-to-Friday schedule including day and evening rotations.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in heavy duty vehicle maintenance
- Experience in diesel and gas engine repair
- Basic tools required
- Valid Class A CDL preferred
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Ability to work shifts and be on-call as needed
