Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic responsible for diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, generators, heavy equipment, and support systems in a highly regulated industrial/government environment. Perform troubleshooting on fuel, hydraulic, cooling, exhaust, electrical, and powertrain systems; conduct preventive/predictive maintenance on standby diesel equipment; ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements; maintain inspection reports and work orders in CMMS; support equipment commissioning, testing, and startup; coordinate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams; must be a US citizen and able to obtain DOE security clearance. 40-hour week with multiple schedules including 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; work in shop, field, and outdoor environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical training in diesel technology, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 7–10 years of diesel mechanic experience in industrial, government, construction, utility, military, or heavy equipment environments
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, and power generation equipment
- Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and maintenance software
- Valid driver's license
- US Citizen
- Area Security: DOE “Q” security clearance (able to obtain after award)
- OSHA 30-Hour certification (preferred)
- CDL (preferred)
- ASE certifications (preferred)
