Job Summary
Inspect and maintain diesel trucks by performing diagnostic testing, conducting preventative maintenance such as engine tune-ups and oil changes, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and body damage. Diagnose and fix anti-lock braking systems, adjust brakes, and overhaul diesel engines while reviewing work orders with the Fleet Manager. Follow checklists to ensure all parts are examined and provide road repairs as needed. Maintain vehicle functional conditions by listening to driver complaints and replacing components. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with overtime available.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years experience working on diesel trucks/vehicles
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the truck maintenance field
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to lift 50lbs. frequently, up to 100lbs. occasionally
- Able to bend, stand, walk, sit, push, and pull
- Able to stand on feet for majority of shift
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer including keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Must be comfortable using Microsoft suite (word, email, data entry)
- Possesses a Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certification
- Possesses a Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Certification (Diesel Engines)
- CDL A-B with Hazmat endorsement
- Certified Heavy-Duty Diesel mechanic with Hazmat
- Engine Performance & Brakes Certification
