Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard component inspections, preventive maintenance, and replacing defective components. Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers to identify root causes and perform necessary repairs. Interact with customers and drivers to determine complaint nature, while utilizing the Shop Management System for electronic documentation. Adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines regarding safety and DOT regulations. Conduct facility maintenance and support operations as required. Requires a valid CDL Class A and two years of experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including: Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
