Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles, including routine oil changes, brake, and tire work. Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers, identify root causes of failures, and replace defective components as instructed. Conduct component inspections, perform facility maintenance, and interact with customers or drivers to determine complaint nature. Utilize the Shop Management System and electronic documentation while adhering to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines. Schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday, with first shift from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Hourly pay is $26.45, with a CDL Class A required and obtainable within six months.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance

- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

- Vocational or Technical Certification
- Post Secondary degree
- Technical Certifications
