Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard component inspections, preventive maintenance, and diagnosing mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers. Identify root causes of failures, replace defective components, and conduct facility maintenance while interacting with drivers to determine complaint nature. Utilize the Shop Management System for electronic documentation and adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines. First shift hours run 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends off. Candidates must obtain a Class A CDL within six months and pass a road test.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance
- oil changes
- brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
