Job Summary
Perform basic vehicle maintenance, component identification, and minor repairs on heavy-duty vehicles. Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers. Execute preventive maintenance with training and support, while handling facility maintenance duties and all other entry-level tasks as assigned. Requires a valid CDL Class A, with the ability to obtain certification within six months. Schedule is Monday through Friday with weekends off, working 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively
- Ability to work shift work/weekend as required
- Ability to perform all entry level tasks
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Must pass a Ryder road test
- Must pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
