Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles. Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers, identify root causes of failures, and replace defective components. Conduct standard component inspections, facility maintenance, and service island support. Interact with customers and drivers to determine complaint nature, utilizing the Shop Management System for electronic documentation. Adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines regarding safety and DOT regulations. Requires a valid CDL Class A, ability to obtain within six months, and completion of a road test. Schedule includes Monday through Friday with weekends off, second shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance
- oil changes
- brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

- Post Secondary degree
- Technical Certifications
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience
