Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles, including routine oil changes, brake and tire work. Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers, identify root causes of failures, and replace defective components as instructed. Conduct component inspections, perform facility maintenance, and interact with customers or drivers to determine complaint nature. Utilize the Shop Management System for electronic documentation and adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines. Work Monday through Friday, first shift Monday–Thursday 10:00 am–6:30 pm and Friday 6:00 am–2:30 pm, earning $27/hour with a CDL Class A required.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including: Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
