Job Summary
Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles while diagnosing mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers. Identify root causes of failures, replace defective components, and conduct standard component inspections. Interact with customers or drivers to determine complaint nature, perform facility maintenance, and utilize the Shop Management System for electronic documentation. Adhere to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines regarding safety and DOT regulations. Execute other support duties as required to maintain shop operations.
Required Qualifications
- Basic tools
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Routine preventative maintenance
- oil changes
- brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational or Technical Certification
- Post Secondary degree
- Technical Certifications
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience
