Job Summary

Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per company schedules and driver inspection reports, including diagnosing issues, completing adjustments, and replacing components. Check fluids and filters, inspect electrical, air, and brake systems, and conduct roadside repairs when qualified. Ensure safety devices function correctly, maintain accurate maintenance records, and perform routine housekeeping duties. Professionally interact with internal and external customers while complying with all safety standards. This role requires in-depth knowledge of truck components and diesel engines, valid driver's license, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime. Shift runs 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess the necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
  • Ability to safely drive service vehicles and vehicles in and out of the service area, as well as a test drive
  • Good mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Ability to complete necessary paperwork (hard copies or electronically)
  • Ability to understand and comply with all safety related requirements and standards
  • Experience using repair manuals, wiring (electrical) diagrams, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair vehicle or component failure is required
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs
  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs
  • Must be able to work outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
  • Must be able to work in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
  • Must be able to stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl
  • Must be able to climb and/or balance
  • Must be able to stand/walk
  • Must be able to travel between offices, as required
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Must be able to perform inspections, diagnostic testing, repairs, and maintenance on the vehicle fleet
  • Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs
  • Must be able to complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to vehicles, equipment, and related components
  • Must be able to check, fill, and/or change appropriate fluids and filters
  • Must be able to inspect, repair, and/or overhaul vehicle support systems, such as electrical, air, and brake systems
  • Must be able to perform roadside repairs, when qualified, for the type of vehicle operated
  • Must be able to ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order
  • Must be able to perform routine housekeeping duties related to tools, materials, shop, and work areas
  • Must be able to professionally interact with internal and external customers with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records (time, maintenance orders, and parts usage) on the computer/tablet

Desired Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of truck components and systems is preferred
  • Experience repairing and performing maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engines preferred
