Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic role focusing on inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing fleet diesel trucks. Responsibilities include performing repairs and maintenance per schedules and DVIRs, diagnosing issues, replacing components, changing fluids/filters, inspecting vehicle systems (electrical, air, brake), performing roadside repairs when qualified, ensuring safety devices work, maintaining shop/area cleanliness, communicating with customers, keeping maintenance records, and performing other duties as assigned. No supervisory responsibilities. Requires tools, ability to drive service vehicles, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety standards; experience with repair manuals and diesel engines preferred; willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends; must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
- Must be able to read and speak English
- Valid driver license (if applicable)
- Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines preferred
- Must possess the necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to safely drive service vehicles and perform test drives
- Ability to understand and comply with safety standards
