Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic responsible for repair and maintenance of diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies and control systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, engine work, HVAC, suspension, drive train and steering. Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication, provides road service as needed to return equipment to operation, and uses electronic tools to diagnose malfunctions. Requires 3-5 years of technician experience or imminent completion of an accredited automotive college/technical program; CDL and ASE certifications are a plus. Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months
- Basic understanding of work order labor time standards
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required
- Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required
