Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

Maintain and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic systems, and air brakes. Perform preventative maintenance, light engine repair, suspension work, and line maintenance welding. Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools and safely provide road service to return company equipment to operation. Complete applicable training programs and perform basic tire work such as replacement and tread depth checks. Work a regular shift supporting drivers on routes while servicing technically advanced vehicles.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise
  • Basic understanding of work order labor time standards
  • Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships
  • 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8)
  • Commercial Driver's License
