Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

Maintain and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, air brake systems, engines, HVAC, and suspension. Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools and identify malfunctions using electronic tools for complex repair maintenance functions on-site and on the road. Perform line maintenance, welding, and fabrication while completing applicable company training programs. Work a regular shift supporting drivers on routes servicing advanced vehicles, receiving training in new technologies and equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 -7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to diagnose multi-system issues
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate technical expertise
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision
  • Complete understanding of diesel fuel systems and fuel systems diagnostics
  • Complete understanding of Aftertreatment systems, REGEN and diagnostics
  • Able to diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools
  • Line maintenance, welding and fabrication
  • Identifies the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools
  • Completes applicable Company training programs

Desired Qualifications

  • ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8)
  • LNG and/or CNG experience
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License
  • Preferred CDL B
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, or automotive systems: Suspensions & Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, Diesel Emissions
